My interest in skin cancers led me to do a fellowship at the world-renowned St John’s Institute. I currently run a skin cancer screening clinic at Imperial College NHS Trust.
If there is a need for surgery, I offer this service in my clinic as we have a special theatre. I gave emphasis on skin surgery throughout my training and has become one of my passions.
I always choose the best type of surgical procedure (as they are many) considering the type of the lesion, the area that is located and the best cosmetic result
When it comes to skin cancer the most common type in the world – early detection is of crucial importance, so mole checks are strongly recommended. Dr Therianou has undertaken a skin cancer fellowship at John’s Institute of dermatology, an international leader on this field and has been trained in dermoscopy, a method of checking moles, that offers a thorough and extensive screening.
Whether you wish a mole removed as a precaution against skin cancer or for cosmetic reasons, you are in the safe hands of Dr Therianou. She runs her own biopsy list at Imperial College NHS Trust and she is an expert on performing complex excisions.
If you are worried about a skin tag or unhappy about its appearance, I can give you peace of mind. I’m able to give the majority of my patients a clear answer about what their skin lesion is and only when necessary will I recommend removing the skin tag for analysis (testing it under the microscope). I am able to remove moles using techniques that leave minimal scarring. Contact me, Dr. Anastasia Therianou, consultant dermatologist for hair loss and mole problems.
